Information about the Masquerade Contest

To participate in the masquerade contest, you need to present yourself to the judges and be photographed at the stage area on race day.

Schedule:
20:15 – Gathering by the stage for all masquerade participants who want to join the contest
20:20–20:30 – Catwalk on stage. Participants show off their outfits to the judges and audience.
20:35 – Prize ceremony – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced

First start: 21:15 / 21:39
Start & Finish: Senate Square
Distance: 10 km / 5 km

What’s included?

A t-shirt from Björn Borg with this year’s unique color and print.
Precise timing so you can compete against yourself or others.
Energy drink along the course and a bar/fruit for everyone who runs.

How does it work?

When registering, you specify the start group, where you want to pick up your shirt as well as shirt size and other choices.

After registration, you will receive a confirmation and a receipt for your purchase.

The start certificate will be sent out approximately 10 days before the start.

Start group

In order for the Midnight Run to be enjoyable for everyone, it is important to choose the right start group.
Choose a time that you think is realistic for you to run in.
The start groups are designed so that everyone running can have a smooth start to the race.

T-shirts

Part of the magic of Midnight Run is that everyone runs in identical shirts.
This year, the t-shirts come from our partner Björn Borg.
Since 2006, Midnight Run has had different shirts with new colors every year.

Start kit

In good time before the Midnight Run, you can pick up your start kit at the Stadium store you selected during registration.
The start kit includes your t-shirt, a chip to attach to your shoe, and any medals.
If you want the shirt sent to your home, you can order it during registration.

A registration is recorded directly in the system, but it may take up to 3 days before your name appears on the start list.

*If money has been deducted from your account but you are not listed on the start list 3 days after registration, please contact Midnattsloppet customer service at: kundservice@midnattsloppet.com. Please attach the confirmation or receipt you received at the time of registration.

No, unfortunately you cannot cancel a purchased starting spot unless you have purchased a cancellation protection*.
When purchasing cancellation protection and presenting a doctor’s certificate, certificate from a naprapath, masseur or company health care, we will refund the registration fee.

* Cancellation protection costs 125 SEK and starts when your registration is paid and ends when the event starts.

Registration for the Midnattsloppet is done through our registration portal. There, you can choose which race you want to participate in.

You can register individually, register multiple people at once, or purchase a value code.

**Individual Registration**

When you register, you will make the following choices:

1. Which start group you want to run in – choose your start group based on the time you think it will take you to run 10 km. Participants in the 5 km race have their own start group.
2. The size of your race shirt – participation in the race requires wearing the race shirt.
3. In which Stadium store you want to pick up your race kit* – Since the choice of pickup locations is limited, the earlier you register, the more stores you can choose from.
4. When registering, you can also choose to purchase: Medal (49 SEK), Diploma (80 SEK), Cancellation Insurance (125 SEK), Shower (60 SEK – Stockholm only).

*The race kit consists of: the race shirt, a timing chip, and a start group wristband.

Yes, you can register and pay for multiple participants at the same time.

Here’s how to do it:
After filling in all your details and before confirming your booking, click on “Add a new registration.” Then, fill in the details for the person you want to register before confirming and paying for all registrations at once.

The people you register do not need to participate in the same race. In other words, you can mix: Midnattsloppet, Lilla Midnattsloppet , MiniMil, and Glada Midnattsloppte in the same registration session.

Please note: When you register multiple people at the same time, the confirmation email will only be sent to the first person in the registration. However, all the people you have registered will receive their own start certificate to their email just like usual.

Yes, that’s fine! Please note that the person picking up your shirt needs to bring your start certificate.

Stockholm

The maximum time for the 10 km race is 90 minutes (counted from the last starting group). The cutoff point will be at the 5 km timing point at 00:02. If you reach that point after this time, officials will stop you and inform you how to return. They will also remove your timing chip to document that you have exited the race and assist you in the right direction.

Malmö

At 22:26, we will close the course at the 6.6 km mark. See the location here.
If you pass this point after that time, race officials will stop you and inform you how to get back.
They will also remove your timing chip to document that you’ve exited the race and guide you in the right direction.

Göteborg

The cutoff time for the 10 kilometers is 90 minutes (calculated from the last starting group).
The cutoff time for 5 kilometers is 45 minutes.

Helsinki

The cutoff time for the 10 kilometers is 95 minutes (calculated from the last starting group).
The cutoff time for 5 kilometers is 45 minutes.

The course will close at 5.98 km, at the pedestrian crossing after the bridge, at 22:33.
If you arrive there after this time, the officials will stop you and direct you towards the 9 k mark to your left.
They will also remove your timing chip to document that you have withdrawn from the race.
You are still welcome to run to the finish line, but you will not receive an official finish time.

The deadline for registration is the day when the event takes place, provided that there are still available spots.

The start certificate for the Midnattsloppet will be sent approximately 7–10 days before the race day to the email address you provided during registration.
