When and where

To participate in the costume competition, you need to introduce yourself to the judges and have your photo taken at the stage.

Schedule:

  • 20:05 Meet at the Main Stage
  • 20:10 Catwalk on stage in front of the judges. We will interview selected participants and take photos.
  • 21:10 Meet in front of the stage for the awards ceremony
  • 21:15 Awards ceremony – we will announce 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
  • 22:00 First start
  • 00:52 Last finishers

Team Registration

  • A team must consist of 4 people.
  • When registering as a team, each participant receives a SEK 50 discount.
  • Categories: Men, Women and Mixed.
  • To participate in the team competition, all team members must be registered for the 10 km race.

  • If you’re taking part in the masquerade class, select Masquerade – for runners in costume as your start group!
  • There are 4 Masquerade start groups. Choose a start group that matches your running pace. This helps ensure an enjoyable running experience for both you and the other runners, with minimal congestion.

T-shirt

  • Just like all other participants, you’ll receive this year’s Midnattsloppet T-shirt. However, if you’re running in the Masquerade class, you don’t have to wear it during the race.
  • Our T-shirt supplier is Björn Borg!
  • Since 2006, Midnattsloppet has featured a different T-shirt design and a new colour every year.

Start Kit

  • A few days before Midnattsloppet, you can collect your start kit from the Stadium store you selected during registration.
  • The start kit includes your T-shirt, a timing chip to attach to your shoe, and your race bib.
  • If you’d like your T-shirt delivered to your home, select home delivery when registering, no later than 13 June.

Tips from the judges!

  • Stand out, be unique and dare to take centre stage!
  • Think lightweight, thin materials.
  • A participant in fancy dress with a story behind their costume is always a little more interesting!

Rules

To ensure everyone has a fun and safe experience, costumes must not include anything involving:

  • Cultural appropriation or racism
  • Inappropriate or offensive content
  • Political messages
  • Weapons or sharp objects that could injure others

If you’re unsure about your costume, ask yourself: “Could my choice in any way cause harm to someone?” If the answer is yes, choose something else!

The deadline for registration is the day when the event takes place, provided that there are still available spots.

The start certificate for the Midnattsloppet will be sent approximately 7–10 days before the race day to the email address you provided during registration.

Sometimes the start certificate may end up in your spam folder. Please check there before contacting customer service kundservice@midnattsloppet.com

Yes, but under certain conditions. It depends on whether you have chosen to pick up your race kit at one of our *live stores or at one of our *packaging stores.

  •  *Live stores allow changes within and between these stores until the distribution of race kits begins. The dates for this are seen below after the store names. Please note that it is not possible to switch from a live store to a packaging store or home delivery.
  •  *Packaging stores: No changes are possible after June 13. The reason for this is that we start packing and dispatching to these stores at the end of June. If you wish to change store you are welcome to email: kundservice@midnattsloppet.com before June 9.

Stockholm – Live Stores: Stadium Ringen, Gallerian and Drottninggatan. August 8 is the last date for change/transfer.

Göteborg – Live Store: Stadium Fredsgatan. August 15 is the last date for change/transfer.

Malmö – Live Store: Stadium Södergatan. August 22 is the last date for change/transfer.

Helsinki – Live Store: Stadium Forum. August 29 is the last date for change/transfer.

Here you can leave your bag that you don’t need during the race.

  • The bag drop-off is free of charge.
  • Midnattsloppet is not responsible for valuables and we do not have any lockers.

Opening hours: Stockholm 20:00–01:15, Malmö 19:30–23:30, Helsingfors 19:30–23:30, Göteborg 19:30–23:45

Along the 10 km course, there are two water stations, one of which also serves as a water station for the 5 km race. Here, water and sports drink are served. The placement along the course varies slightly depending on which city you are running in.

Before the start, there is an opportunity to refill water at Runner’s Corner. You will also receive fluids after crossing the finish line.

Applies to Stockholm only: We have an extra water station for those running the 21 km. Water, sports drinks, and toilets will be available there.

No, the medal is optional and costs 59 SEK. It can be added when registering for the race. If stock allows, you can also purchase the medal when collecting your race shirt in our pick-up stores or at the information tent after the finish.

To reduce environmental impact and avoid discarding unused medals, since 2022 we have made the medal optional for those who truly want one. Starting in 2023, we have also added a ribbon, and the medal is now made of wood to help conserve natural resources.

A registration is recorded directly in the system, but it may take up to 3 days before your name appears on the start list.

Masquerade groups are popular and fill up quickly so make sure to be there early.
