The registration fee is 275 SEK and includes a race shirt from adidas, a medal, a digital diploma and a unique virtual running experience with tracking and results service through our app.  You can choose to pick up your race shirt in any of the available Stadium stores in Sweden. There is also a possibility to get the shirt delivered by mail for a fee of 60 SEK for deliveries in Sweden and 90 SEK outside of Sweden.

Midnight Run Virtual Race is the Finnish virtual race and will be organised on the 29th of August to the 6th of September. You can choose between 10K and 5K.  The registration fee is 25 EUR and includes a race shirt from adidas, a digital diploma and a unique virtual running experience with tracking and results service through our app (no medals in Finland). You can choose to pick up your race shirt in any of the available Stadium stores in Finland. There is also a possibility to get the shirt delivered by mail for a fee of 9 EUR in Finland or another country.

Please choose the race organised in your country. If you do not live in Sweden or Finland you can choose freely which race you sign up for according to your preference.

A registration to the virtual race is done in our registration portal, where you choose between 10K and 5K. You will also choose the size of your race shirt and in which Stadium store you want to pick up your shirt.

  • When can I pick up my shirt?

To minimize the risk of certain sizes running out of stock it’s good to sign up well in advance. To avoid a possible rush in the store it’s advisable to also pick up the shirt in good time before the race.

    Midnattsloppet Sverige (Sweden)

The shirt can be picked up between the 8th and 23rd of August in the Stadium store you chose while registering to the race.

    Midnight Run Virtual Race (Finland)

The shirt can be picked up between the 22nd of August and the 6th of September in the Stadium store you chose while registering to the race.

  • When is the last day you’re able to register?

The registration is active as long as there is a supply of race shirts. The assumption is that the registration will be open until race day (15th of August in Sweden and 29th of August in Finland), but there are no guarantees it won’t be closed earlier. It’s better to sign up well in advance, as specific sizes of the shirts might run out. You also have to be able to pick up your shirt before the race.

How does it work?

Midnattsloppet 2020 is not only a virtual race, but something more. We offer you an experience as close to the real thing as possible, only in your headphones and in your own location. You’ll run a distance of 5K or 10K on your own course.

When registering for the race you get a start certificate sent two weeks before the race. In the start certificate is a link where you can download our app with tracking and results service. Through the app you’ll experience a dynamic sound file which triggers at specific points in the race. Before the race you can choose to activate the pre race activities, including warm up, count down and the start. During the race you’ll experience music and cheers as artists and our partners inspire you along the way to the finish line. You will also receive voice notifications as you pass the kilometer markers and cross the finish line.

What you will experience

The thing that makes Midnattsloppet unique is the party, music, atmosphere and feeling of solidarity. In a normal race this is created among other things by live music acts, lights and sounds. This year we’re bringing the Midnattsloppet experience to you right where you are. We want to make the experience as real as possible right in your headphones as you get to experience live music, choirs, samba and other surprises, and also more quiet parts just as in a normal race.

Naturally we won’t be able to create the visual images normally associated with the race, but we look forward to being able to share the Midnattsloppet experience as authentically as possible with you, even in these very unprecedented circumstances.

When is the race?

Midnattsloppet Sverige (Sweden)

The first start is on the 15th of August at 21:30 CET. If you’re unable to run at that time, you have the option to run the race at the time of your choosing during the week after, until the 23rd of August. Just note that you will only be able to run the race with a registered time once.

Midnight Run Virtual Race (Finland)

The first start is on the 29th of August at 21:00 EET. If you’re unable to run at that time, you have the option to run the race at the time of your choosing during the week after, until the 6th of September. Just note that you will only be able to run the race with a registered time once.

Run with a host

As the race is later in the evening, as is the tradition in Midnattsloppet, we offer the possibility to run in smaller groups with a host. The hosts are available in approx. 60 locations all over Sweden and are from Runacademy, Hammarby Friidrott, Malmö Allmänna Idrottsklubb, Solvikingarna and Mölndals Allmänna Idrottsklubb.

The option to run with a host is only available in Sweden and in Midnattsloppet Sverige.

If you can’t run in a location with host availability, you very welcome to form your own smaller running groups in your area, to be able to run together.

Sign up and support the future of Midnattsloppet

Midnattsloppet has, as many others, been severely affected by the crises we’re currently experiencing. We cannot just cancel the events this year and move them to the next year. If we do nothing in 2020 the harsh reality is that Midnattsloppet, with a history of almost 40 years, will not survive this crisis.

We’ve been woking tirelessly to find a solution and we feel that we have successfully found a way to be able to share the experience of Midnattsloppet. We adapt to this new reality in order to be able to continue to support our sports clubs, participating in organising the events, and their youth activities that are dependent on the yearly financial support gathered through Midnattsloppet.

We need your support now more than ever, and the best way to show your support is to sign up and experience a very unique edition of Midnattsloppet. Your participation makes a difference. Thank you for running with us!
